Consequences of magic

So everyone always says that there are consequences to doing or performing magic. But what if its to protect you from evil? To save a failing marriage or help a sick child? Are those exception? What if someone who didn't care about any consequences, imposed harm to you with a spell or a curse? Is retribution okay? I am really new to this and I really want to respect the craft because I know it can do a lot of good if used correctly but in the wrong hands or for selfish reasons it could cause chaos.

Please explain/ help

I the consequences are when you do something bad or try to control or hurt somebody. I do not think harming someone for doing something to you is an exception because you would still be doing harm no matter what the reason behind it is. The idea is that whatever you do will come back to you. If you do good you get good back if you do bad then you get that back. It is kinda like karma or the old "what comes around goes around."

There are consequences to all we do or don't do. Magic is no different. Healing and protection are considered acceptable uses of magic. I would not use magic to save a failing marriage, some things are not meant to be. That is a personal belief.

You are right that magic can be a good thing and many of us use it daily. There is much about that craft that is misunderstood. Research and discussion will help you to find your way in it all.

Blessings

Paganstar: I ask about a mending a failing marriage because I believe that someone used magic to break mine apart. A jealous ex who always hated me used it to break up my marriage. Now she's sleeping with my husband and he was completed turn against me within days. I'm not joking which I am sure you know it is possible. Now I wasn't looking to cause her harm for destroying my marriage, but I just wanted to know if there was anything that could be done to break what she did and even the playing ground? Because I didn't need magic for him to fall completely in love with me but obviously she does and did.
