Necromancy is a form of divination by coomunicating with spirits or using death energies.

'Communing With The Spirits: The Magical Practice of Necromancy,' by Martin Coleman is a book, and I think it is a great book on necromancy. It goes in depth and even has some formulas.

Personally, I think necromancy is an art of its own, and an art that puts practical emphasis on many concepts.
