I do not cast a circle, but say a prayer of protection. My church provided a very good one for me, and it can be modified for any religion, I think. As in instead of God you would say the name of the god/ goddess that you are praying to. If you want it I can mail it to you tomorrow.

As many have already stated one does not need to cast a circle in order to cast a spell. With that said it is a good idea for those who are in the first few years of practice to cast a circle each time they cast a spell or conduct a ritual. This is a not only a good way to practice circle casting but also to become experienced and strong at it. The cast circle not only helps to protect that which is inside/included in the circle but also to help contain the energy being raised inside the cast circle. This is especially important when utilizing the cone of power in a casting or other magical working. The circle is created as well to be a sacred space that is between the worlds. That is the physical world and all other realms/planes of existence.
I personally have several circles that are connected to the protection of my home and the property it sits on cast at all times. I also cast magic daily however I do not cast a specific circle for these workings unless the spell or other magical working requires it or I feel I need the practice.
