annalise, there are plenty of articles and even links to other sites that can be helpful. in terms of books, Scott Cunningham and Raymond Buckland are two great authors. there are plenty more out there, but for the basics, and the closest thing to an 'expert' Buckland. Cunningham is very helpful with solitary practitioners though, there are MANY other authors, but you should get a level head about the religion before picking up books by Ravenwolf or Conway. there are books that you could find that might teach you other things that aren't Wicca, and if you wish to focus on Wicca, at least for your year and a day, Buckland and Cunningham are your best bet. one more, The Witches Bible The Complete Witches' Handbook by Janet and Stewart Farrar is another great choice.
