well you have a strong desire, so it should work, you're probably not relaxed enough, or maybe the time is off for you. myself i have trouble projecting most days, but on Samhain when i try to fall asleep, i project whether i want to or not, it's always been like that. how long have you been trying for?
try lying on your bed [on top of your sheets] or on the floor and slowly relax, when you feel ready, visualize yourself floating to the ceiling, or sitting up [if on your bed you could try falling out of it] there's MANY methods, but you need to be really relaxed. it can day a long time, regular practice will help you. since your desire is strong, it will happen, just remember on your first projection, don't leave your room. float around a bit and get the feel for it. also, when you want to return [when you're far away] think of your room, then your body, because crash landings can be bad. a friend of mine was quickly zapped back into his body and he hasn't been able to project since [granted he stopped trying after a year, but it's been about 4 years by now.]
