I also read somewhere that lemons are good for clearing acne when put on the face. It'd be nice and refreshing too :)

I don't actually agree with this but if you want something from someone, write it/them on limes, cut and squeeze the juice over ice and add sugar. Then let the ice melt, stir and serve the person the limeade while nicely asking for what you want. It could be something you want them to do or something you want them to give you.

Yeah I've never tried it. I wouldn't recommend unless it was absolutely necessary. But I can't think of a situation where it would be. Maybe I'll try it on my kids and write "clean your room" on the limes. Lol.

Becareful when using lemons on your face! It can bleach the skin. This is why people used them to lighten freckles. But if you are darker complected and use it on a single spot like a blemish, you may be unpleasantly surprised by the results.

Use green tea instead. Brew it as usual and apply it while still hot onto your face with a rag as you would a commercial astringent. The tannins are not as dying and if you are light complected, the worst that can happen is a slight look of a natural tan if used everyday. I see it as a perk! No you won't turn green. It can also draw dirt from deep within your pores (making them look smaller) if you hold the hot rag over "problem spots" for 20 seconds. It doesn't happen immediately but within 2-3 days you will see the difference. I do this once a week and moisturize afterward with organic olive oil or my favorite, organic unrefined sesame oil which works as an extra protection against acne because it has antimicrobial properties. Pour a nickel size portion of the oil in your palm, wet your other hand with water liberally. Rub your hands together before applying to make it easier to apply and cause faster absorbtion. If you put too much oil, use a damp washcloth to pat your face to remove some of the oil. A shine on your skin is not a bad thing. In fact, it causes us to look more attractive. Dry skin is unattractive and will make you age faster...wrinkles!

Lemons are great bug deterents (spiders, wasps and ants hate citris). Cats don't like it either. You can use the juice to clean with. Lemon, salt, and boiling hot water removes all sorts of stains in pots, pans and copper jewelry (with no stones). It removes all baked on grease. Would you want this strong of an acid on your face?

In magick it can be used to draw or attract anything. Strangely its associated with the moon (I would assume being yellow it would be the sun).

Lemon itself with (uncooked/not pasturized) honey mixed together can be taken as a natural cough syrup or to sooth a scratchy throat or strained voice. 1-2 tablespoons every 2-4 hours. Most people drink it in tea, but then it doesn't coat the throat as it would taken as a syrup.

Lemon can be sprinkled on fruit to keep it from turning brown (apples and bananas esp). It is added to recipes with baking powder to activate it and make food "fluffier".

Try not to ingest too much lemon at once because of its high acidity. Not only can it wear away the enamel on our teeth (so brush them well afterward) but it can disrupt the PH balance in our bodies which is extremely important for optimal health. Remember, moderation in everything. =)
