Wow, I have never seen the informative page you have suggested Personified, I guess that I have many things to see and learn about this site, because it seems like there are some sections and tabs that I am not familiar with.

Just In addition (I forget to say some things), the basics are required as I have told you, Indeed. You cannot do anything in life (not only in witchcraft) without starting out with any category's basics and beginning baby steps. This is a very well known thing and rule of the the life. For example, take a building. You can't build a house or any building without starting with the first floor. If you would not start with building the first floor and start building the other ones - the building will simply collapse and be ruined. Same about magic. If you jump immediately to spell casting after you start out - you will get nothing, waste time and probably fail. SO I agree with every word that Personified said.

And now about the casting tips (the link) that was presented.
Basically, casting a spell properly is knowing what you're doing (the basics), energy manipulation and direction, etc.
In the link there were presented other things, like: The mental condition of the practitioner, colors, moon phases, days, tools and ritual supplies. etc.
Indeed they are helpful and will make your spell better and you'd probably cast it properly if you know about it.
But I must mention that these things are not required, they are only optional so I did not tell you about these tips / optional steps for spell casting. That's probably why this section is called "spell casting tips".
But basically you can just manipulate, direct and send energy to the universe for your will and intent.
But these are recommended tips, but only optional.

I hope this helps,
~Catholic.
