No, it sounds like you put your eyes through a lot of strain. Something to see an opthamologist about if you don't already know the cause. Twitching of the muscles in the eyes could also be a vitamin/mineral deficiency. When I get those annoying little twitches of a nerve around my eye, I eat one banana a day. Works like a charm.
You don't need to meditate with your eyes closed. Try a mandala or candle flame for focus. It should allow you to bypass your eye problem.
