I would suggest the things you do for the first couple months is mostly research. Get to know the craft(Wicca), know the Deities, know the Elements, know the Herbs, The Crystals, The paths, the spells, everything you can get your hands on.
After you have done enough studying, You should probably start by finding your Path. Theres Celtic Wiccans, Dianic Wiccans, Alexandria, Eclectic, Gardnerian, Even Christian Witches. Theres many ways to go with your paths so pick carefully.
Once you found your path, get to know its Deities, or Goddesses and Gods. There many of them and many types of them (Celtic, Norse, Egyptian, etc). Every God and Goddess help with different things, and have powers in different ways. Get to know them.
The first thing you should work on should be Meditation. You have to learn to Meditate if you want to be a Witch. Meditation is good for your body, your mind and your soul. Just take time to relax.
Spells are usually seen as the selling point of Wicca and Witchcraft. Everybody wants to cast a spell and get love, money, and luck. They want to get back at their ex, make the guy of their dreams fall in love with them, have endless money.
Truth is, It isn't that easy. Not every spell is going to go through perfectly. The Divine Power, Gods, Goddesses, And fate will decide how everything goes down.
Make sure you're casting a spell for the right reasons. Anger should never be a reason to cast a spell. Make sure you cast spells when you are in a calm state of mind.
Also, Using other people's spells are good and all. But a spell is best when its written by you. You pick out the Ingredients (Herbs, Crystals, Oils), write the words, etc. Its more powerful that way.
But most of all you should really try and learn more about yourself as well as the Craft. Make sure its the right fit for you.
