Can you create Gods?

I think this is the point were people should just say "screw it, somethin made me, i should be greatful, and respect that it made me, do my best wtith what ive been given/apointed, and now there is even a chance of haveing an afterlife. Life is wonderful". Thats all god ever needed to be, in my opinion. Also you could through fate in there somewhere...

@ Taliesin yes that's what i meant, in the sense of Zeus who was immortal and threw lightning bolts and struck down [and slept with] whomever he wished, no, to pray to your own god with the same powers only a different story, like he has character traits you admire, absolutely.

To me it makes sense that the gods were some kind of other race that we just worshiped as gods because of their incredible magical power. I hesitate to call them aliens, as that implies a number of things that I doubt are perfectly accurate. However, I believe that the "benefits" we receive from worshiping certain gods (in the magical sense, not so much in a religious sense, I know it sounds strange) is due to us connecting to a certain part of the collective consciousness that is basically a manifestation of what that god meant to us as a species.

now, before i go into my explanation, read the WHOLE post before replying. in response to the question posed by this thread, yes, one can technically make a "god" it is called a God-form, it is a self conscious, self thinking and extremely powerful thought-form. in the second link, it goes to shoe you, how a simple sigil, was fed enough energy and intent over the years, to mutate into a servitor, which mutated agein to have a literal mind of its own, and putting it one step higher, into an actual being.

now, i must say this however...it is QUITE difficult to do this...as in general, most servitors are destroyed by there creators after use, and rarely have a chance to possibly...for lack of a better word...evolve, into having a thinking mind of its own. unfortunately, most of the time when it does evolve, it usually become a leach on the makers energy, and becomes self destructive, and dangerous to its creator, and others.

usualy, when a servitor is made, to become a thought form, it is done by a group with the intent to make a being of energy, this is called a, group thought-form, or, egregorie, i think(dont quote me on the last part). but agein, this takes massive amounts of energy from the casters, or other sources and is all but impossible to do on ones lonesome.

Sorry I am not interested in making my own religion and so far I have no enough powers to control people. Money, gold, throne, love, sex, and science & knowledge are current people's idols... you need them to get followers.

Yes chaotes can create their own gods to use for ritual use. They must create the entire archetype though, the name, what they reign over and their personality. The more detailed the better. I personally wouldn't do this, but then again, I'm not a chaote. I'm sure there is a chaote site out there that explains in detail how to craft a deity. Good luck!

That's a nice form Taiesin. Very thorough. I think adding a few stories (if the person has enough creativity) with their created god or goddess starring would also really help. Or if they are artistic, sketching the deity.
