You shouldn't doubt yourself or your experiences. You're trying to prove this to yourself by finding support or criticism by others. But your own mind is where the support or criticism should lie. Ask yourself if this was legit. Accept the answer.
There is no harm in believing that this was a very real experience. I know the fae exist. So has many cultures over the entire world. But do you believe?
If you doubt your personal experiences what is there to believe? Why believe words on a page that other people write when right in front of you, you saw, heard, and felt. Real senses! Real experiences. No matter what, everything we sense must first be processed through our minds and interpreted. An apple you touch, taste, and smell is your perception of that fruit. The way you perceive this world and the next is unique, because you are unique. The one with the best judgement over what is real and what is not is you.
But, since you asked.
Unless you are delusional, prone to hallucinations, or were under the influence of drugs or alcohol (which I doubt), the giggle you heard would be the most solid evidence that the trance/journeying and then dream were spiritually influenced and not a product of your imagination. You physically heard a noise that a door cannot produce =p
