Profiles

It would seem that many youngsters want to learn. Yet their profile says nothing very much!
Take the Heading "Location". Many give their location as something frivolous, "Among the clouds", or even sillier such as "Away with the fairies."
Location is important. It gives an indication of country, of language, of culture. An indication of English being first or second language. Location should be just town and country; not postal address.
And, if you don't wish anyone to know your location, leave it blank!

A description of personality should certainly be part of the profile. But that has nothing to do with location.

Description of personality is in the bio: their grammar, the placing of words, quotes, all of it tells personality. The location also helps sometimes as to why they talk like they do.

No one really ever describes their personality. The more you have out there, the more people get a feel for who you are. Location is but a facet of what can help someone get a feel for who you are and that was the point Brysing was making.

some just want to give you a sense of their personality rather than writing it out in the bio.

Or even spell the way they do! Such as writing in code; u for you; btw for by the way. That indicates a very young person? Or somebody posting by using text? Or perhaps English is not that person's first language? All that in the profile, yes;but not as part of the location.
