I don't believe so. A deity does not have a spirit like ours, that is why they are considered "immortal". They also have a responsibility to maintain their part of nature and they can't just take a vacation from their duties and the people who pray to them. Mind you, I don't believe that every deity exists, but that the same divine spirits are perceived by every culture in a different way.

I believe that claims of "gods" incarnated were not truly the spirits of gods taking a corporeal body and being born from a woman. Instead I believe that, as invocation can call forth a deity's essence into ones body, the deity places a part of their energy into a carefully chosen person's body for however long they desire. It appears that these people were "godlike" but they were merely a vessel. Don't you ever find it strange that every figure believed to be the incarnation of a god, felt fear and sometimes even an unwillingness to do what they were driven to; however, they did it anyway. A battle of will won by a deity. Not so pleasant sounding but it's a lot more believable.

You, R4ven, are such a downer. You can't call something impossible just because you think it's impossible. There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamed of in your philosophies.

I never said the word impossible, now did I? I merely stated my opinion. Is that not what this thread was intended for? I'm sure Tony was asking in order to hear multiple viewpoints. So I shared mine.

I don't see how it is so odd. In Ancient Egypt the Pharoah became one with Horus, but he wasn't born Horus. People honored the Pharoah only because he was considered a god, but he was still originally just a man.

I thought the Egyptians worshiped the pharaohs because they believed that they became Gods in the afterlife?

I believe that at their level they could reincarnate, but why would a being of purity and light who is one with the universal source, want to come back here? I think if they wanted to check they could. Thats my .02 cents worth.

Because there are so many wonderful things about the Earth. Flowers, trees, forests, waterfalls, stars, the moon, the sun. For you or anyone else to ask what there is to love about this Earth... well you'd only need to open your eyes to look and see the wonderful things about. There are also many beautiful man made things. Art, music, poetry, skyscrapers, buildings, computers, the internet, movies! That is why I never want to stop reincarnating. There's just too much of this world to see and far too much to do.

Also not everyone wants to become a source of purity and light. It sounds awfully boring. I mean I'm sure that the first few years are fine... but after that amount of time? Yawn! I need spice in my life! Adventure! A little mayhem! Without impurity there can be no purity. Without dark there can be no light. Without evil there can be no good. So that's why I want to figure out a way to stop learning, to stop growing, and to disconnect from my Higher Self. To become a brand new soul so that I can *always* come back here. So far I haven't found a way to do that yet, but where there's a will there's a way. You can never stop fighting for something you want... especially if you want it badly enough. When things don't go your way you don't simply lay down and surrender. Instead you fight with everything that you have in you! Of course this isn't about my thread... So yeah. Back to the topic at hand. >.>; So want Loki to incarnate...
