I was once told by my mentors that all words have magic, no matter what language one used to speak them in. It is more important to know how a word is spoken to repersent what is being said and named "by you," then it is to used a word that you are not familar with.

The best language to use for casting spells is one your familiar with, that way you don't stumble over the words and have an easy time saying the spell.
I know that a little slip up here or there during a spell won't really affect the outcome of the spell, as long as your purpose and will is intent, but I personally prefer to say my spells smoothly.

This is a personal opinion, but I feel there's a certain benefit to using a language you're not fluent in. When I'm speaking English I sometimes feel I'm focusing too much on the words themselves, as opposed to the meaning behind them. When I use another language I find it easier to stop thinking and just feel, something I find important in magic. Now obviously there are some times where the exact phrasing does have meaning and significance, and in those cases I recommend English for clarity and your own understanding, and so the words have more meaning to you.

There is power in sound, and different vibrations. Even science knows that. However power words and sounds is not the same as language. A language itself does not hold power only certain words with particular vibrations. So changing a spell to a different language won't make a difference.

I feel that when working magick of a particular culture (working with those deities) if it is possible to speak the language properly, than its a sign of great respect to those deities.

I'm going to disagree on speaking what is "most comfortable" and instead say what you feel drawn to. What you feel drawn to is what is right for you. Perhaps its apart of your lineage or past history of your spirit. Why be "comfortable" when you can challenge yourself! But don't just use it for magick. Don't use some cheap online translator. If you're going to use a language, learn that language!

When I was thirteen, I felt a strong pull to Latin, and when I went to high school, I took it as my language and still practice it to this day. Now I am trying to learn Tsalagi (Cherokee), but it is very hard because there aren't many classes or learning tools out there. It wasn't even a written language until the 1800's

The best language for magic is the one you speak. Language doesn't make a spell any stronger.
