Your going to get a response that might help you, because I am Pagan you won't hear a list of things you can and cannot do with magick.
Magick is just Mind Over Matter. What does this mean? Well it just means that you can overcome things with just one thought. Of course the bigger the thought and the more you want it to be the more likely it will come to be. Let us say I want to get a job so I can pay the bills. I won't just get a job by sitting there casting spells now would I, but I can get a job if I have a positive mind and going out and doing something about it. If I go into a interview all depressed and needy, the chances that they will call me back is very low. But if I went into a job all happy and outgoing than the chances are very high.
The thing about Mind Over Matter is if you know you can do it you will do it. This has been proven both ways because people that cannot cast "Spells" believe Magick is fake and so is the spell work. While those that do cast a spell because of the fact that they see some kind of outcome.
Another matter that does effect Magick is how you believe in it. If your just doing magic for the spell work and making your life better, you may get a rough spot. Rough spot as in you believe your first spell should be right off the bat effective. And because nothing happens like Harry Potter, you come to a site like this and ask questions why it didn't work and after all that you quit.
If your the type that goes for the knowledge and wisdom than casting spells would be the least of your goals. All you do is read and read and read about Magick and other usage. Lore and History is your favorite.
But if your the type that went for magick to be closer to nature and the wild-life than your in the wrong place. Sadly this site doesn't cover much about that and since your mostly staying indoors than outdoors you won't take the time to be on here unless you want to chat with other witches.
There are many other types but you seem to be the type that wants to learn about spells and The Craft.
Real and The Human Mind. Because we can dream and picture something we normally cannot do in real life, we can get confused on the two. It is hard to explain this one, even though it is a theory I will use a example.
Let us say, you need money to get yourself a HD TV set so you can watch the Sunday Football Game. So you researched a spell to get you money to buy that very TV. You finally found one and you already went off to cast the magick dust and circles.
Outcome one: You get the TV but not the money and you still think it was because of the spell. Like your friend gave you his because he got a new one or you found one on discount.
Outcome two: You get a raise in your work because you worked harder than every other person in the workplace. You do get the money to afford the TV, but you believe it was the spell and not your own doings.
Outcome three: You get nothing and nothing new happens. You blame the spell and not yourself for not trying hard enough or saving for the TV.
Outcome four: You forgot all about it and move on with your life.
Any of those can happen on any spell you cast. Fake or otherwise your only going to give credit to the spell and nothing else.
Back to your question, a list of things you cannot do? Well it is very simple really... Anything that sounds too big will not work out of a whim. Includes growing wings, changing your eye color, giving you super sight, seeing in the dark (You can train yourself in seeing in the dark but I discount it as a spell and more on training your body), and many more.
Like what the person said above, if you cannot do it with magick you can surely do it with something else. If you cannot fly, take a plane. If you cannot change your eye color, were contacts. If you cannot grow wings, dress up as if you have wings. and so on and so on.
