Non-attatchment is a form of insight meditation. It is a technique designed to free us from desire, giving us openness, and clarity of mind. A typical practice might be 'Vipassana', teaching the Buddhist view that to obtain insight we must bring out that which is within, thereby obtaining profound and radical change in our lives. :)

Also, you can practice "catching yourself in the act" of attachment. When you see yourself worrying over some thing, or if you see someone riveted to a sports game and cheering for "their" team, you are seeing an effect of attachment. It is an emotional attachment to the outcome of an event (wishing is a similar thing). We all do it, and it is not inherently bad. It is always useful to be aware that we are doing it. Peace.

all occult traditions have a way or more to describe that, in Chaos magick one way to describe it when doing a ritual or spell is: a lack of lust for results.

at first those momments are very short and is direct related with concentration. My experience is that when i am in that "state" i feel detached from everything, it feels for me like awakening. Human and animals feels the same i see humans like animals too. Is like being an observer.
