Catholic Parents..
By:
My parents are really devout Catholics. They believe that all forms of the craft are evil and that I will burn in Hell if I practice it. They found my BoS once, and made me through out everything. I tried to explain Paganism to them but they just won't listen. I am becoming an awesome witch, and devout Pagan. I don't want to hide it anymore. I brought it up on here thinking that someone had a similar experience and could give me advise.

my advice, dont tell them anything. keep everything to yourself. like what the what the witches pryamid says, "be silent". i understand how you feel. my aunt is a catholic and will surely take me to a excorists if she found out. i kinda hurts because im closer to her than to my own parents

first of all, its hard to live in a house that you cant practice your beliefs, which i know is tought and hard, and down right sucks. however, you still live in your parents house where they feed you, clothe you, bathe you, and shelter you, and hopefully love you. you still have to abide by their rules and this sucks. however what you can do is practice outside, if you can. not only is this better (connecting to nature and the god and goddess), but your parents wont know. you can also keep a book of shadows on your computer, and not hard print. and if you have a close friend that will let your keep your book of shadows at their house, that can do, or if you have a pagan friend you can practice with them. as long as you dont tell your parents and abide by their rules in their house, you may be able to sneak it. but also dont forget that the god and godess wont punish you or hate you because its not your fault that you cant practice. most importantly, dont hate your parents for not letting you practice, its not their fault they dont understand your path and have been misunderstood.

I know you want to share this with your parents, but it's probably better if you don't. A lot of people who are Christian(Not all) are so engrossed in their religion that they don't see that everyone else has the right to believe what they want. I know they believe in what the Bible says and they want to do what is best for you, but what I've never understood is, why can't parents just accept something that makes their kid happy? I know parents care about you and are worried but, what I would do in your case is try and find one of your friends that is open minded, and keep you bos, candles, consecrated water, and all your other items required for the craft at somebody else's house. Also, if you have nowhere to practice in your home you can wait until your parents leave for an hour or so, you can find a partially secluded stream(Not too secluded, you still need to be partially visible to passer bys in case something were to happen) in , group of trees, creek, or place in a park. If you find a partially secluded place where none of your parents friends, or neighbors hand out; then you can practice without any interference. Although, there is another option, you can wait until you're eighteen and you move out. Then you're free to believe and practice whatever they want.

see i am the exact opposite.
I am baptised catholic, only becasue my dad and the rest of my family are catholic- i am also confimed, so anyway.

all the family know i practise the craft, i go to a catholic school, my friends and even some of my teachers know.

I think you should just tell them, that you dont despise and put down Catholosism, so they shouldnt despise and put down Witchcraft.
You should tell them that you respect they're religion and what they believe in, and they should do the same towards you.

Be open, be proud to be a witch!!

Blessed Be!

I have to agree that, while you live under your parents' roof, you have to abide by their wishes. You may feel stifled and insulted that you have no freedom to practice. However, it is also an insult to them, who nurture and protect you, that you reject what they believe in.

It might seem difficult right now, but I think they deserve that you at least keep private about your faith. All too soon your days with them will be over. There will be plenty of time for you to do whatever you wish in your life. As long as your parents are not actualy abusing you, you must respect their wishes.
