Actually, the "modern" aspect of modern science describes its conception, not the era that it can be used to study. The laws of nature did not change simply because somebody invented a microscope. The laws of nature did not change because they realized that molten rock and pressures within the earth created volcanoes... Not various gods.

That is like saying when I close my eyes light does not exist.

Cling to whatever belief you want. If you're going to debate something at least have your wits about you.

Yes, you can use modern science in the past...ever heard of fossil reconstruction? Studies of dinosaur behavior? No, they would not run away if they are in a large pack, they would bite you if you ran into them and leave. They would use fire, but a pack of bats might panic, and fly into them. Bats cannot see very well at all, so they might not even notice the fire. And read my post about the idea of vampires drinking blood! In medieval days, Rabies was a very common disease. Porphyria was also a common disorder; no coincidence there. You are telling someone who wrote a college Research report on the subject how it goes. These diseases are not common now, but were back then (*like the plague for instance). And the coincidences in every legend are what make them come to be legends from reality. And I just explained to you how the blood idea got started! And IjuAnd A

Don't forget they also came from a misunderstanding of science. When a body was dug up they saw the process of decay, bloating, hair and fingernail growth, blood running from the mouth, nose and ears, etc. From that they concluded that the dead must be rising to feed on people.

Please disregard that typo at the end.

and the article is of one view point and most bats dont bite humans or drink blood and in the medival days the had to fire to see in the dark and bats wont go near fire even if they are scared they would fly off into the darkess area they can find

Yes Bard. Thanks for re-stating what I said in the original post. It helps so I don't have to go find it or tell someone to (no sarcasm intended).

I hate to say it, you really have not been reading what I said about the bats. And, if a bat is rabid...it WILL bite a human. Yes, this article IS from one POV...the commonly accepted concensus. If you wish to start a thread showing that they do exist and that you have extensively researched the topic, be my guest.

Great post Thunor! Lure them in then expose them to harsh reality! Lmao!

By the way....how can something dead have an "allergic reaction"? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Well in truth, the victim was not dead, therefore could have an alergic reaction. The paleness of the skin from Porphyria would cause them to appear the same approximate tone as a dead person. Answer your question?
