For Witches
By: / Novice
Hi Guys.
I found this piece in a group I belong to. I hope you all like it as much as I did.

I am a Witch.
Do not worship Satan, I'm not interested. Satan was created by Christians. Satanism is a form of Christianity. I'm not Christian. I don't go to church on Sundays.

Jesus is NOT my savior. He simply was a HOLY man who lived 2,000 years ago. I have no fear of going to hell, do not believe in hell like I do not believe in Satan. I believe in reincarnation, I will return to this or perhaps another world to live another life.

I'm not bad. Telling people or asking me if I'm a ''good'' witch implies that there are evil witches. There are bad people in the world, and some people choose to work with the forces of nature in a way that hurts someone or something, these people are NOT considered witches. The principal law of a witches is ''and harm none, do what you will.''

Please do not ask me about the sacrifices of cats or desecrating churches. I love my cats. I don't go to churches or temples unless a person known to me invites me for a special occasion. And if I go to a church lightning is not going to strike me. And if a Christian, Jew or Buddhist would go to a pagan celebration; our gods won't strike them with lighting. Is this something to think about?

Wearing a Pentagram is no different than wearing a cross, crucifix or Star of David. If you want me to remove the symbol of my religion because it is offensive, you need to make all people of other religions remove theirs. The 5 peaks of the star in the pentagram represent the four elements Earth, Air, Fire and Water and the fifth peak represents the Spirit, the circle around the pentagram circles and protects the world. "How can that offend anyone?" asks my pagan mind. The image of a tortured man, dying is more offensive, yet thousands and thousands of people use it openly, without hiding.

Also, please do not ask me if I belong to a sect in that tone of voice: half horrified half fascination. If I want to talk about my sect, I'll offer the subject. If I am a solitary witch, then I have no sect to talk about. In any case, our rituals contain candles, food, liquor, poetry, dance ... and yes, a knife but only to cut the air, not anyone's skin.

I do not drink blood. I'm not any kind of vampire. I wear black because it rejects negative energy, and because I look better in black than in an orange skirt with purple polka dots.

If you want to ask something about my religion, ask me about the next full moon. Ask me about herbs. Even better, ask me to make a potion for love. But do not ask me to do a spell to make you more attractive, thin, or irresistible. And I would not do a spell to make your partner love you more. Believe me you do not want any of that, or the Karma that it involves for you or me. That is a form of manipulation, to remove the power of someone is to act against their will. Not good.

The witches work with the Universal energy, with the Gods, to improve our odds. Need money? Do not ask me to do a spell to get your boss to give you a raise. Simply ask the universe to increase the flow of abundance for you. That is not to be imposing on anyone's will. One more thing? Do not give me a book on the persecution of the Witches of Salem, it's like giving a book to a Jewish person about the Holocaust. Not funny.

Please don't try to humiliate me of who I am or who I worship. Please do not try to ''convert'' or ''save'' me. Don't throw holy water at me. I do not seek salvation, and I don't need it. Us witches are proud to say that we do not try to ''convert'' anyone. We are simply witches, and the people around us realize how we changed, act, and the inner peace we found. And only when someone asks ''how can I become a witch?'' do we then point out the road. I'm not trying to convert or recruit anyone as a witch. I'm just asking you to understand. And if you don't want to understand, please just leave me alone.

RECEIVE BLESSINGS,

A WITCH
