Yep, I'm not looking forward to the new witch series coming out this fall, "Secret Circle" I believe it is called. I will be watching a few episodes, just so that I can spot the ones that take the series as factual. Urgh...

The biggest problem is that the writers of these Tv and movie series, do tend to read up on witchcraft and and the occult, and often insert some actual reality into the scripts! We should be vigilant and point out these "realities".
I think everyone noticeses, it gets very annoying. TV series and books on Wicca or Witchcraft do attract plenty of fluff- but wouldnt it do the magickal community good to teach them right from wrong? Good points: It attracts new practicioners. Bad points: It attracts lots of fluff who believe fake spells.

What everybody needs to always keep in mind is that movies and TV shows are for entertainment. So anything that anyone may "pick up" from a film or TV is almost bound to be wrong.
I have to say at this point, that those we call fluff tody, could well end up being superior practitioners to ourselves tomorrow. It is a stage that many of us have gone through, not a life condition! Tell me you didn't believe in Santa?! :)
How does a website full of fake spells teach people they aren't real? That's like saying someone should make a website about flying vampires who can turn into bats because that'll teach them it's not real
This has been going on for a long time,in movies tv music i findsomething new everyday, especially since i study a variety of magic. Even down to the Hippocratic oath doctors take stems back to astrology! We just have to keep our eyes open ,and a lot of so called fiction movies /shows are a lot of fact sprinkled with fiction .
