Lucid Dreaming.

Here is a simple way to get started on lucid dreaming.

This is what I would describe as an anchoring technique. Choose a simple behaviour, such as touching your nose, taking a deep breath, or, popularly, looking at the palms of your hands.

Practice this behaviour several times a day. The idea is that when you practice it, you connect it with the thought "am I dreaming?". Practice the thought!

Practice many times a day for as many days as it takes. Eventually, the behaviour will manifest in your dreaming, as behaviours do. As you have practiced the thought, that too will manifest. This time though, you will become aware that you are dreaming. You may be shocked into waking up the first time, but keep trying. When you can keep it together, you will be able to steer your dreaming at will. It is a handy technique if you suffer from nightmares, as you will be able to wake yourself up :)

I had the same problem. When you have got the hang of lucid dreaming on purpose, you can employ a mechanism for such situations. What I do, is when I'm having a nightmare, in my dream I raise my eyebrows up as high as I can. When this happens, my eyes actually physically open. I get a glimpse of the room I'm in and from there it is easy to make myself wake up properly. Hope this helps :)

thats a good way, but i can controll my dreams even if it is nightmare or anything. that is because i can awake my senses in my dream. funny thing, i didnt knew how to control the dream before and there were some really bad skeleton ghosts and witches coming in my dream attacking and teasing me, they were not strong though, and the same dream used to come again and again. And then i started to practice controlling my dream, and one day i got the same dream and i teased and attacked them in the dream and

I think that's a really good point, that accessing your sensual awareness will increase the potential to gain control of your dreams. Thankyou :)

Let all keep in mind that Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection are two different things, yet they can be similar.

I think the very opposite in lucid dreaming, I'd say when one is correctly within lucidity of the dream, once can change the surroundings and the environment of the dreamscape.

For example: If you are having a nightmare, you can usually literally fly away, if not, you can spin around as fast as you can, this will create a new atmoshpere. When I find myself in a nightmare that I am just lucid enough to realize I'm dreaming, yet can't completely control my actions, it is not entirely lucid dreaming. Or at least that's how I feel.
