Grounding is when you connect your body to the earth/physical. Most ground by growing roots into the earth and pulling the energy up into the body. Centering is when you create a balance between mind and body. You connect them so that they are working together in harmony. These are part of meditation and should be done on a regular basis.
Sit or lay on the ground/floor. Feel your body touching what is beneath you. Visualize your body growing roots down into the earth. Feel the energy and pull it into your body. Now concentrate on your breath. Become aware of your breathing and begin to take deep breaths. Count to 5 as you inhale and as you slowly exhale completely empty the lungs. As you do this you are also centering as you connect your mind to your body to become more aware.
