Best way to form question
By:
Was wondering if someone could give a bit of rules/guidelines as to forming the question for a tarot reading.

I know people will respond "whatever is in your heart" but the way my mind operates and the way I like things is sort of in a "wire frame" layout where I know the most basic of rules and can work from there. :)

Well I'm not hear to tell you "whatever is in your heart". You need to use your brain on this one lol.

Do not ask yes or no questions.

In any form of divination, unless it has a yes/no system is not meant built for yes and no answers.

Never ever ask twice! Once you get your answer, write down what card came up in what position, what your question was and the date. The answer will eventually become clear.

Always remember the future is not yet written. Any future questions will be a guess, based off of the path you are currently running. Any changes in that path WILL change the future. We have free will. Very few things in life are "pre-destined" and even then we have the choice to choose what to do.

Alright, now that I got all of that off my chest....

Make questions as simple as possible. They should be broad. Tarot is like a puzzle. Every piece is important and gives some definition to the rest of the picture. You must read them TOGETHER to understand the answer, not just one at a time. The broader your question, the more slack you give the cards to explain, not only the situation but the causes, the influences, and the possible result (if advice is taken or not).

When someone tells me their situation, I simplify it into broad question. Sometimes a situation calls for more than one question, breaking it down so the tarot can read more clearly. Sometimes a question is not needed but just an idea of what it is that you want the cards to explain.

For instance, say someone is dealing with a love triangle. I would first read on the "relationship" or "love" category of their life. Then I would perform a reading between each couple with a relationship spread, the questioner being the common link, to see what qualities each relationship has, letting the questioner choose for themselves given their new knowledge.

Sorry, my phone was going to die! I didn't want to lose all I wrote, so I sent it.

I personally prefer spreads. Each place holds its own personal question, and then all you have to do is focus on the situation as you shuffle and deal.

But if you are really stuck on asking a "question", I would ask "How can I..." "What is happening with..." "What should I do about..."

Should, Would, Can, Will, etc should never start a question because that would be a direct yes or no answer. "Who" and "Where" are also a bad ones, because that is asking for names, or descriptions at best. Descriptions through the tarot without a talented intuitive reader, is a recipe for disaster, because who you assume it is, and who else it could be describing, could be mistaken.

The tarot cannot spell names of people and places. So when you have a special request. Like a choice between two people or locations for a job, house, etc. Write down the names, place them in different areas on a table, and read for each one seperately.

Hope this helps!

I agree with whiterav3n, however, sometimes I find that not asking a question, can give you more of an answer then asking one. I hope that makes sense to more then just me XD
