I disagree, I am a proud member of spellcasters and it's the ONLY coven that allows everyone to be council.

Maybe that is the problem, everyone been council, a structure should maybe be introduced, kick most out, set a council up and have it work from there with a process of entry like the other covens, if this means that is has to be demoted to a smaller coven for a while then so be it, have the council sift through the spells and delete the fluff with a trial period to turn it around. I don't know about spellcasters but what i hear is never good, but total removal seems harsh, but this as a compromise.

The issue I see with everyone being "council" is that it is supposed to be a title well earned. Now I have somewhat older ways of doing things, and my councilors generally tend to members who can tell you a thing or two about magic, AND have leveled heads that don't make butts of themselves on a regular basis. A councilor is a person who should be trustworthy, and a member can turn to them for help or counseling. Spellcasters has never required this.

However, the member who originally posted this left the site, so I find it funny how people are still arguing with them.

Anyway! Beyond that little useless point I made beginning this post, I think it doesn't matter that Spellcasters is here. People want to blame the mods for it remaining on the site, mods are supposed to keep the peace, nothing more, and the vast majority of Spellcasters's members are either so inactive no one ever has a problem with them, or they keep their shananigans within coven walls! Most of the members here that actually cause issues come from other covens, and usually covens with much better reputations! So if a coven has an annoying member who can't control themself, should it be removed along with a coven who has an idiot member that adds mermaid spells?

i say we let the coven stay. there would be no point to kicking off a entire coven. and i believe the spells could work. and as for everyone being council, i disagree but i can see why its like that. they are trying to promote equality so that nobody feels down about themselves or their abilities. if you guys don't like the site or the spells on it then maybe you should be the ones to leave.

Really? This is still going on? Leave the coven alone. They haven't done a thing to you so what gives you the right to bash on them. Yes there are fluffy's in there but there are fluffy's on the entire site.

Deal with the fact that they're here and move on. Find something else to complain about ;)

its not that theres more fluffies in that coven than others but since there all council they get to put up spell where other covens councils are more expiernced

so because anyone can put spells even though they arnt expiernced and possibly fluffy theres alot of fluffy spells out there

I say remove the coven or change it, becuase there are so many fluffy spells out there that when new members come into the chat they ask,"Why don't the spells I found work?" and then I say," Well if its a spell that you made maybe there isn't enough energy put into, or maybe you don't have much effort in it.""No I found one on this site about ____" "Well you should probably make sure that it isn't a 'Spellcasters' spell because most of them are fluffy. Then you need to make sure that again, your putting all your energy into, etc." This actually happened today and the day before yesterday.

This is how a coven should be
/
/
/
/ HP/HP
/_ Council _
/ Members

When its like this
/ Council
/ Council
/ Council
/ Council
/ Council

There is NO order.

I say keep about 20 RESPONSIBLE Council Members and Move them here to be the order. Revert everyone else back to a member status. Then the members can send their spells to the council members, any of the council which they can find conveniently on their covens page and the council can make sure its not a fluffy spell. Then they can give credit where credit is due by doing this.

Subject: [****** Spell By: TestAccount]
[ ]

Then the spell.

This is effective and a better use of the coven.

IN FACT

When I wasn't a member on SoM but visited it on a regular daily basis, I looked in the spells sometime and probably used some of spellcasters spells. At that point I had no idea about how different it was from a members view so I didn't know about fluffy spells from spellcasters. So I've probably used their fluffy spells before and I know which ones too, this is because I've tried a lot of them and they have failed.

Please Change, or Remove this Coven. (Preferably Change)

I also agree that you should have to work for your council position by showing your knowledge, being active in the forums, and helping out around the coven. This is how it would be in a REGULAR Coven In real covens that aren't on the internet you have HIGH PRIESTESS, HIGH PRIEST, and members, even sometimes council. Members don't get to write in a coven's spellbook (if they have one) without the HP's or Council's permisson. AND the members in the coven aren't fluffs because the HP decides if they can join the coven or not. Most of the covens here SAY that you have to have a profile bio because thats how they get to know you and if your a fluff or not, but many of the fluffs lie you don't know them personally, you don't know them at all, so you don't know any better than do add them. Thats 2 PROBLEMS with the coven. 1) No HP to see your BIO which could still falter in the spells/forums by lieing about your experience/s and 2) SO MANY FLUFFY SPELLS BECAUSE THERE IS NO STRUCTURE!!!!! THERE IS NO HP TO KEEP THE COVEN IN LINE NO SPECIFIC COUNCIL TO KEEP THE MEMBERS IN LINE AND ALL THE MEMBERS ARE AUTOMATICALLY COUNCIL WHICH MAKES FLUFFY SPELLS!

Do YOU see the problem here?
NO STRUCTURE = NOT A GOOD COVEN

You do realize that you all are making yourself out to be ignorant and arrogant.

There are covens on here that have a Priest and Priestess and are more fluffy than SpellCasters. I find everyone complaining over something that is none of their business, down right ridiculous.

It is not your coven and you should not be whining about it. It is a coven where everyone is equal unlike the rest of them. If you honestly have issues with it then join it and fix it up some. Other wise stop the complaining. You're all acting like children over nothing.

And if you have issues with them putting up spells, that's your problem. How is it everyone elses fault that you can't tell what is real and what is not? You have this ability to flag a spell as spam and also to rate it. If you have the common sense to know some of the stuff is bull, then you should have the common sense to stay away from it.

You all crack me up, Spellcasters was purposely installed by the owner of this site so that people could simply publish their spells without having to go through anyone else; hence the name of the site.

Fluff spells?? I don't know how much time many of you spend in your own Coven's spell books; but I can tell you over the years I have spent a lot time reading and rating spells in here. Even the most established Covens on here have or have had some of the fluffiest spells and leaders.

And the funnier part of it all is that Spellcasters is the only "Coven" on here that does not have the power struggles and pure drama that every single other Coven has endured at one time or another. (Wanna argue this point? Everyone one of you complaining about Spellcasters look next to your profile I can promise that none of them say Spellcasters or no Coven.).

If its hurting your pride that much write a letter to Pet, otherwise this is just another asinine thread that reappears after its deleted with the same exact people belly aching over something they have no control over.

its not that spell casters have the biggest fluffy to normal ratio (there the biggest though so they could have more)

but it just that they can post spells
