I am one. I have been wrestling with it for years and years. Trying to make myself choose between my faith in Christ being salvation to me and the abilities I had that I could not explain. It is very simple. One witch can believe in Isis...one can believe in Diana....this one believes in the God of Abraham. Why is Diana greater than the God I worship? Are my angels not just as powerful? It is each person's right to choose their deity I believe. We should do so peacefully and passionately. I came here to find other similar to me and to be accepted by those different, but having common interests. I have always known pagans to be people of acceptance and non-judgment. There is nothing written saying that Christians cannot be witches unless the non-christians here want to ackknowledge the Bible as truth. I believe my God made the magick and my abilities a gift. let us all have our beliefs in peace without judgment. peace to you all and blessings

The term, "Christian Witch", describes a path using :

1. The "Greater" and "Lesser" Keys of Solomon.

2. The "Sefer Yetzirah", and other tomes/books about creation.

3. The "Books of Moses".

4. The "language" and "magik" of Angels.

5. The "hidden" meanings and rituals, within the psalms.

I'm a Christian and I don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God anymore than I'm the Son of God. Jesus taught us that we are all children of God and that God is our father not his father.

This is an old thread, and almost all the arguments stem from my writing that you cannot be a Christian witch. I apologise for that!
What I should have written, and what I meant to write,is that you cannot be a Christian Wiccan! They are two opposing religions.

Brysing your mistake resulted in a conversation. It had it's good points and not so good points, just like every conversation does. Don't worry or fret about a simple mistake that anyone in your shoes could make eventually if they live as long as you have. Your wisdom and experience as an elder is much appreciated!

Christian witch/witchcraft is a relatively new term. I grew up learning the folk magic practiced by my very Christian heritage. The term folk magic was not even used to describe the "old ways" we lived, let alone any variation on the term witch.

Those who mock the Christian witch no not what they do and should be forgiven by those they mock.

Okay, well I know the last comment was posted a few days ago, but I just wanted to say that it is possible to be a Christian Witch.
Has anyone read 'Path of a Christian Witch' by Adelina St.Clair?
In it she states something that I love so much. Monotheism by Inclusion. This mean that all names for the Divine become equal to each other. Christians tend to practise monotheism by exclusion (only the names for God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit apply). It is simply semantics. I worship both Jesus and Aphrodite side by side, and many more deities, these two are however are my Patron Deities. In the Wicca Bible by Ann-Marie Gallagher, it basically states that all Gods and Goddesses are one and yet not the same. This means that each face of the Deity we have makes up the whole aspect of the Deity, and yet, they all have different aspects and areas over which they reside. Once again all this is down to semantics, but we should really be focusing on uniting the religions and not dividing due to these semantics.

Your welcome, I am glad it helped. I also am glad to know that you're beliefs are similar to mine in a way. It's always interesting to find out.
