Ok guys Ive been doin witchcraft for years but stopped last year because I became a chrisitian what I wanted to know was is it ok to be chrisitian and witchcraft? Please post your opinions or experiences
Celly, if have posted much on this topic. In those threads, there are many other opinions as well that you could take into account. If you click on my profile, then my history, check out the threads that have the word christianity in them.
I'm sorta the opposite as I was born and raised a Christian, but recently started practicing witchcraft. I'm in the broom closet and regular/bi closet which causes a stressful life, bur anyway getting back on topic I wrestle with similar belief issues. I feel it's alright as God made us so the abilities must come from him plus I feel it's how we use the power not that it's inherently wrong.
In my opinion it is perfectly fine to be a Christian and a Wiccan at the same time. Look at me and my profile, I am a Christian Wiccan and proud to be one :) Many people do not comprehend us especially the two different religions. I personally believe (please excuse me to everyone that does not believe my beliefs) that Jesus Christ is our savior and that there is only one god, but, I follow the beauty of the Wiccan path. You can mix whatever you want in religion (sorry Brysing and others if this offends you in anyways, but, this is my beliefs.) as it is your path and your path alone.
There is the old religion, that has been around for milenia. Then there is Christianity, new in comparison. (And yes, of course there are other religions as well.) I am a former Christian. My eyes opened as I began to learn more, kept asking when the other christians didn't like my questions, and delved deeper into my true nature. I am also an old soul. My soul remembers the old ways. It is a religion all its own. And it doesn't tell lies, hide books written to make you believe what a group wanted people to believe many years ago for a particular following, nor shun those practicing anything. That's my two cents. Blessings.
I think practicing the craft and being a christian is fine. That is because a lot of Christians just don't understand and they tend judge others just because of what they believe in. They sometimes call them devil worshipers or something like that. When that is not true. Wicca a form spirituality and connecting with your spirit. It also gives us a safe place. Makes us feel connected with the universe. Wicca and Christianity become one. People just misunderstood other religions sometimes. It can happen. But everyone makes mistakes.
Do you what you feels right. No one should be able to tell you, you couldn't do what you want to do.

No,darksage, you didn't offend me. But it seems that this thread is about Christianity and Wiccan. I had never heard of Wicca until the 1960s. I was trained in witchcraft during the 1940s when the practise was illegal. I was initiated in 1954, long before Wicca was written about by Gerald Gardner. I am a very "old school" witch! And it has absolutely nothing in common with Christianity! But that does not mean that Christians cannot work in magic! They just cannot be involved in witchcraft. As I have said, they are two entirely different things.
