There is no such thing as a "level". When a magic user is talking about their level of experience they're talking about something that isn't like a level in a game. They're talking about whether they consider themselves a beginner, intermediate or advanced magic user. These things are highly subjective, it isn't like you "level up" or can tell your "level".
Even beginner/intermediate/advanced is relative. I've met people who consider themselves advanced after only a few months, I've also met people who don't consider themselves advanced even after more than a decade of study.
Learn the Basics of magic. There are a lot of things in the forums about them, take your pick. There's no level like in a video game, you just learn things and get better at them. It's like any other skill, such as playing the piano or learning to draw. You don't hear about a "level 5 piano player" in real life so you won't hear about a "level 5 magic user". I hope this answers your question.
