IS it cheating?

I am having a conversation with a fellow spell caster the other day and he is of the view that the fact that i am casting spell for people going for competition or examinations in other to win is cheating. basically this spell just make the recipient have a better retentive memory or will give him or her unusual favors with invigilator and fellow competitors alike. so is this cheating?

Kinda. But they're all going to wear crosses, pray to their God to win,and do their own 'luck' rituals,so yah. You're not doing anything worse than them.

I think the fact that YOU are doing the casting is cheating, but other than that no. When it comes to competition or tests, I believe that magick and prayer, etc, are part of our natural potential and should be utilized.

That really depends on your personal morals rather than on the morals of others. You see, if you feel it to be cheating, then you shouldn't do it as it goes against your own personal moral rules, but if you don't then why not help someone else out?

To be honest, I feel that there is no reason not to add a booster to yourself while doing a competition or an exam, that said I don't think you should place too high a value on that booster. I feel you should still study and work your butt off to get make the grade or get first place.

Thing is, if you work for it then the spell being there is just for confidence, and to maybe help out a little bit in reality. ;)

I don't believe its cheating, like you say its not giving them the answers, its helping them remember what they have learnt.

Some people have better memory, others sleep poorly the night before an exam making them tired the following day, a spell to even the balance is fair in my eyes.

I feel the same way the others who have spoken do. I mean to say the decision of whether it is really cheating can only really be determined by you. I also believe it matters what type of spell you are casting. If like you say it only helps them retain the information they study I think it is as fair as someone who has a photographic memory. Before anyone says anything I know people can't turn a photographic memory off and that there is a difference between that and a spell, but I still think it's fair. Also on the grounds it isn't fair as they aren't the one casting the spell maybe they can't. I'm studying magick right now and haven't succeeded yet in pretty much anything. At first it got me down, but when I'm ready I'll be able to do it. What I'm saying is I don't think it's wrong to get help in an area you don't have talent in. I also doubt these people know your doing the spell casting for them. If they did their own values might either result in them asking you to stop or asking for more help. Just trust yourself. Your helping a friend and I personally think that's nice.

Ok. i didnt just pick someone randomly and cast the spell for the person, its usually when someone comes to me for help then i help them with the spell. there one that boast retentive memory, it makes you remember very clearly anything you have read, but there is also one that works in the exam or competition, and how it works is that someone will help you with the exam, it could be invigilator or co-examiner and there is one that works after the exam has been written, the marker will favor anything the person writes and in some occasion even go out of his/her way to change some wrongs. so this is what i mean

Ok I'd say the last thing you mentioned about after the exam is written is cheating as compelling someone to alter the exam, if I understood right, I consider highly wrong.
