Strange...

I dont know why im asking this but if wicca is a reliogion about joy and happiness in nature...Then why is the spellbook called the book of shadows?Shadowws and darkness are just strange to me Why do they call it the book of shadows and not something like the book of light?

Becuase Wiccans had to practice in the shadows and they wrote everything down in a journal. Hence a BOOK of SHADOWS.

It's called the Book of Shadows because that is what Gerald Gardner called it when he developed the system that we now call Wicca.

And Wicca is NOT all about joy and happiness even though many of us who practice this religion find both in what we do. Wicca is actually a religion that deals not only in the brighter side of things, but also deals with those things which are darker in nature such as death and destruction. A religion which does not show us how to deal with the shadow side of life will fail to sustain us when we are faced with the darker aspects of living.
