If they are going to be stressing about an existing spell, they will be stressing even more if they write it themselves and don't believe they have the power to do so.

I agree that too many want it handed on a plate, its nice to see people interested in magic yet sad that they aren't willing to find out how magic works.

I believe the biggest problem to magic today is not only the microwave magicians, but the teenagers who claim to have mastered magic, they fill newbies heads with tales of element control that leave them wondering why they don't have that power. This is the only magic site that pushes the basics, so that means this is the only magic site that wants to teach people the right way, just a shame its over run with so many role players.

My advice to anyone newly casting a spell is if you dont feel ready to write your own spell then dont(I find writing my own to be much more affective aswell as being much more rewarding in the creative sense)..you will know when you're ready to go ahead and do your own, and if you choose to use an others persons spell instead only go for the ones you are comfortable with preforming(as I have come across some spells that I would never in a million years ever preform) also maybe change one or two of the lines to add your own words and put your own imprint on it.
Dont take anyone else's word as gosple! not even mine...just trust your own intuition on what best for you.

I also have to disagree. First off, if you're new to magick, I suggest you read as much as possible. Don't worry about spells until you know the how and why.

Another thing I disagree with is your waste of time on creating your own spells. That's a silly thing to say. Creating your own spells is a personal and powerful thing, more so than just picking up some random sell off the internet.

I also agree in writing your own spells. You use your own brain, instead of just copying from someone else. Second, your own energy goes into it, and as such, you can direct it more into the outcome. And third, you have to learn the basics which gives you an outline into what you will be using for your spell.

You just can't read a few words and expect it to work for you. There are no "cookie cutter" spells to work with; each and everyone is unique, and each spell should be unique to the one who wishes to cast it.

I agree with Bardou, Why should you be in a hurry to cast spells when you honestly know nothing about what magic truly is? The first steps in learning is to learn the Basic's of Magic and learning to meditate..Once you have truly mastered them then you can move on to other things..try learning and be patient before you try jumping into something you know nothing about..

That would work in an ideal world, where someone has the months it takes to master the basics and be competent to believe they can write their own spell.

How many people come on here in a panic asking for a spell to deal with an emergency, are they just supposed to go away and learn everything they need before they do the spell.

Of course your own spell works the best, but until someone feels competent enough to write their own then they should go with spell books by some of the greatest occult figures in the history of magic, many who died before Wicca was ever considered.

Conjure...An emergency???

If someones in an emergency situation I would hope they have the common sense to use other help available to them as other people who dont ever use magic would do, Who's to even say magic would help them in time anyway...some spells can take weeks to months to come to fruition.
It just seems to me theres a lot of people who think magic is a quick fix to their problems, maybe if they put as much energy into solving whatever problems they have as they do into finding a spell to sort it they might get on a lot better.

Yes an emergency, health, love, danger, the reasons people come on asking for help.

Even if the spell does not work it may give them the peace of mind they need to bring some clarity, then again it could solve their problem within days just like that.

I agree that people believe magic is a quick fix, but I also believe that some people need to understand this isn't an ideal world and the best way to learn is to practice, like riding a bike, if you had to learn from a book it wouldn't work.

Like I said in my other post, I would agree with the great occult figures that produced spell books that are well known throughout the world.

Didn't he said untold said that the person should study like a week or so before casting one? It sounds like you guys are not reading everything or something. "Before going off casting a spell I really think you should learn more about yourself, wicca, the tools used, and how to control your energy plus feeling it. This shouldn't take more then 3 months, but it shouldn't take less then a week. Take your time learning your in no rush." A lot of stuff you guys said to him was stuff that someone with months or something should do not what someone that just got here.

Honestly, I have to say that many spend months upon months learning this. Some even take years to understand themselves and the way their energy moves and how to harness it. Some do take to this very easily, others not so much though. I always recommend that if you want to cast a spell, you should be studying at least a few months to get the basic concepts down, so you don't hurt yourself. Grounding and Centering is also something that one needs to know how to do as well, which from what I see, was left out. Visualization too, which is another key to making spells work, was left out at as well.
