Meditation is a great way to build up your skills. Creative visualization (another form of meditation) will be the next step. From there you can start working on planning your astral temple, and visualizing it like you do with other visualizations, and pathworkings. Once you get to that point, you can start practicing astral projection and every successful attempt, you can slowly construct your temple and use it as an anchor, to help pull yourself into the astral plane.

Yes, I agree meditation and visualisation is great.
Also I recommend chakra cleansing, trying lucid dreaming and also try projecting your conciousness to other places.

Yes. I agree with Neukat. Elements and dreams are primarily what I am interested in. Now as I gathered, meditation and chakra cleansing are important to have done before attempting ap. And also lucid dreaming. But I have a questing about that. How does one induce themselves into a lucid dream?
How does someone make themselves aware they are dreaming while they are?

By Dream Weaving. You can instill a specific object in the dream to let you know you are dreaming. Such as a Purple sun, or a Cat with a Key Shaped tail, things that are simple, but that you know for a fact can only exist in a dream. You will have to practice a good bit but it does become easier the more you practice.
