When casting spell or doing a ritual dose it matter what language you speak? Basically I'm asking are there some language's that are more "powerful" than others?

Some say yes some languages are more powerful because of vibrations, some say no.

I personally say no because you can still make a vibration in any language if you know how to do so with your voice and also because if you don't understand what you are saying what good does it do you to say it?

I'd say languages that have been given a lot of energy by a mass of people may have a little more power, such as ancient Hebrew or Greek, possibly, simply because so many deem them to feel 'mystical'.

Many people will say yes. But others like myself will tell you that this is not all true. Remember words, and languages have the power you give them; and so, spanish or english, it doesn't matter as long as you get your point across/ the energy needed.

Enochian, is supposedly the supreme language in magick, its the language of the Celestial Angels.

Personally I feel that any language is good enough for almost any spell, but if your doing a spell with angels involved (or something a bit more diabolic) Why not use Enochian, I have actually done an experiment with this, Angels and Demons both respond better to pure Enochian during a ritual.
But then again, it would take hundreds of people to do the same ritual as I and in both languages before we could say for sure that Enochian is more powerful, so until then,
Its up to you to decide that for yourself.

Note-
Words of Power are an exception, everytime I have used them they have shown very good results, as this is true for most others who have used them (around my area anyway)

Speak any language you wish. All languages can be powerful.

The oldest of languages are considered by some people to be more Magickal because the cultures that used them were translating languages of the Divine (not necessarily of deities) directly into written and oral languages.

How about you meditate on Divine languages and see how you interpret them on your own? While yes, I agree with the others that Magick can be cast in any language, I think it would be a good spiritual project for an individual to interpret the Divine themselves. You don't have to, but I personally find it intriguing.

Personally I like the sound and flow of French, so I write small incantations in French. It feels more foreign and mystical to me than English which I find blunt and unpoetic (at least by my skill lol). Using French helps with the ambiance and helps strengthen my power (by lending that mystical confidence). I wouldn't say there are any inherently more powerful languages than others, unless perhaps there is some language used by some culture specifically for spells?

I mean, would that operate on the same idea as consecrated ceremonial tools? Like, you only use your athame for ritual purposes, so over time it becomes imbued with the energy you've channeled through it, giving it a boost of power that a butter knife wouldn't have?

Depending on personal taste, one language will probably sound more powerful than another. I think German sounds powerful because it's so deep and guttural. Japanese is a fairly sharp language, and French and Chinese are kinda whispy and flowy. Spanish has an exotic tang to my ears, and I think Caribbean patois sounds really Earth and ominous.

If you don't have the time or care to learn a language, you can always make up your own specifically mystical, powerful language and pack it full of potent symbolism. I've made little sentences here and there based off English grammar, but with much more appealing sound.
