Glad to be here :)

Hey guys. I have just joined and i must say i like this site already. I see active chat, a lot of spells and other useful things. Well i would like to contribute ;)
Here is one of my rituals:

Luck ritual

Time: Full Moon
Tools: bowl of water (let it be clean, you have to drink it)
Instructions:
First make a magick circle to protect yourself (you can find a simple way to cast a circle on the blog). Put the bowl of water in the center of the circle. Stand above the water with the athame in your right hand and speak the following words:

"In the name of The Great God
In the name of The Great Goddess
I invoke Thee
Oh Spirits of this holy night come to me

Hear my words
In the name of Thee
Let the rays of their might guide you to me!"

Now take the water outside and hold it in the moonlight while chanting:

"Oh children of the moon
Oh my lady so bright
Oh my horned hunter of the night
Bless this water by your light

A blessing of Luck
I humbly ask of Thee
Come through this water
Come to me!
So mote it be!"

Now drink the water.

as a newbie, I have lots of questions...why at the end of every spell does it say mote instead of may?

You dont have to say " So Mote It Be" if you don't want to at the end of a spell you can replace it with any term you like as long as its an affirmation of your intent and stating the spell is done.

The term "So Mote It Be" is exactly that an affirmation of intent and completion.

It also is a very ancient phrase used in Wicca,Witchcraft and Paganism, which I also believe it is derived from An old English word "mtan" which means "To Be Allowed To" dating back to before the 12th century.

And I believe it is also used by Masons as their form of saying "AMEN"

The word "Mtan" was actually "Motan" with a line above the "O" which didn't quite work right oh well Lol.

I expected at least one welcome...and instead they argue about "So mote it be" in the Introduce yourself section....

No one was arguing. Someone asked a question and it was answered. Could it have been put somewhere else, I'm sure it could have. But since it was from a newbie, I can't see where the problem lies.

And by the way, you posted a spell in the Introduce Yourself forum. There are forums to use for posting spells.
