Latin spells were used by student to frighten each other. It was the fear of the spell that made them work with added effects that students made. Latin as a language is harmless, but there is an inner phyco understanding to some of the words used.

I think using the original language used to make the spell helps, but they're right it doesn't matter. It comes from belief.

The spell you gave is fake anyway you can't shoot lightning from your hands and Latin is where magic started with witch doctors in Africa and Mexico and stuff like that i could explain more but google could answer your questions faster

the older the language the more powerful the spell try Egyptian or something older. However anything older than Latin is hard as heck to learn (believe me I have tried).

Words are words, try saying to an english speaking person "I HATE YOU" you are going to get a more emotional response than from someone who does not speak the language, expecting an automatic response from a rhyme is not going to do the job. A spell in english can be evocative and in another tongue create an otherworldly effect however if you are bent over a book trying to enunciate every syllable your focus is not on the magick at hand.

Words get their meaning by association therefore intent is the strongest power behind them when you are speaking to yourself and not others.

Also, there is (to me) a misguided opinion that simply to 'believe' is enough to make it so, this (again to me) is a very oversimplified (even lazy) concept of magick as there are more variables at play.
Should you disagree then by all means 'believe' you can jump over the moon and prove me wrong.

All comments welcome.

I agree with what Psychomech typed above .Despite that i like latin very much and i am emotionally connected to it in magic we should use believe ,sound ,state of mind ,will ,setting up the stage ,emotions and many other factors to achieve our goal .Latin will work for me for sure just because i have big laking for it and mainly because of that ,not because it holds more power than let say english .What holds power on/for you depends entirely of you (or either some of your aspects does not matter if you are aware or not of them ). How things work for you also depends entirely of your understanding and skills to put them in use .

I have my own personal language, which I use for spell casting, and I find that that works really well.
