You can look up the herbs for the different types of spirits you wish to raise; however, beware what you want and who you call. Permission is also needed to summon spirits. Do not play with this if you are not sure of what you are doing. The cabala of the Goetia will explain the consequences.

a good one is rosemary, it can be found in the kitchen and it is used to calm and appease spirits and is burned in quite a few funerals.

the spirit with me likes to be left alone, but i light incense for him, normally i use rose, or this type my occult shop sells called 'butterfly dream' in my opinion, i wouldn't try and attract a spirit, never know what could happen.

I would personally go with Nekroshima with not attracting them on purpose. Being sensitive to spirits and things like Ouija boards being common to my closet I know what comes through when you use things to attract them. Lots of good energies do come through but so does a lot of negative things.

Dandelion tea is used to call spirits and is said to enhance psychic ability.Therefore i am gathering it right now since it is in bloom and ready available almost everywhere even in the big cities .

we natives use sweet grass to attract the spirits. although sweet grass attracts both good and bad spirits so it must be used with sage
