After casting a spell
By:
I read somewhere that after u cast a spell it's best not to try and think about the spell. Just let the energy carry the spell.
Is that true? And how do u accomplish that? I usually end up thinking about the spell & wondering if it will work.

If you believe the spell will work, there's little reason to think about it. If you keep wondering if it will work, it's probably because you doubt yourself to some degree.

A spell is cast with confidence. Instead of thinking "I hope this works", we think "this will work" thus we need no further thought on the matter.

Great subject! I definitely am on the side of yes, you can greatly damage your spellwork by over-thinking it. That's one of the reasons why experienced workers are discrete in mentioning their ongoing workings.

My friend Cat sums it up best in her article "thinking a spell to death." To avoid plagierism, i'll post the link here:

but if something is important enough to you to cast a spell over it then you must be thinking about it. How exactly do you get yourself to stop thinking about it? and be that confident to not have to think about it. i find it almost impossible. (might be why none of my spells work!! haha.)

Exactly how do u not think about it? No matter how I try to keep it out of my mind there's always something that triggers a thought about my spell. Especially if it's a spell to have a friendship turn into something more sexual. Everytime u see that person u wonder if the spell has worked. Or maybe it hasn't worked is because u were never to be their lover, just their friend.

I tried to access the link but it doesn't work!

There's a difference between thinking about it as it pops into your mind, and over analyzing it.

In all honesty, if you are questioning if it worked, if it was meant to work, is it the right thing to do....odds are, you shouldn't have cast the spell to begin with because you clearly weren't 100% sure this was what should have been done. Doubt kills a spell.

If it pops into your head, do an affirmation to increase the power of the spell or leave it up to the gods ( if you incorperated them ). Something like "This spell will work in time" or "It's up to the Gods to do as should be done". Make a positive statement, and then force yourself to think of something else.

It's difficult, I understand...but it gets easier with time. Paitence is needed in spell work.

As a newbie I usually leave it up to the Gods. I will use the positive affirmation. Thank U.
