Life sucks and then you die. Fact is, although nobody likes being discriminated against, I don't think that was discrimination, since nobody was aloud to make religious objects in class. It seems like a case of the media blowing things out of proportion and people being over-sensitive.
How would the christians have felt if he had got to make the alter and bring his holy book in when they weren't aloud to make crosses? They would have felt like they were being discriminated against, and that would have caused a lot more trouble. Frankly, I think the teacher was right to stop him sinse he had stopped sombody else from making a cross.
I understand that some people may be a little sensitive to things like this, due to personal experience and such, but you have to look at it from both sides.

Last I checked Christianity has a long history of cruelty and violence. I don't see much difference between prayers and spells anyways. As long as you aren't hurting anyone or trying to force anyone to do anything I don't see why you shouldn't be able to share your beliefs in a school setting.

I grew up in a Christian household and I was taught to be scared of any religion that is not Christian. I think that is ingrained in the minds of many people, and not just Christians are this way. I also think that if it's a public school they shouldn't be allowed to censor pagans in schools. Private schools can do whatever they want though because they aren't funded by the state.

I went to a school, in the middle of a highly christian town, and was almost expelled for expressing my beliefs.
Now since I clearly see both sides of the story and did some looking into it, I can say that while the shop teacher was clearly at fault for some of it. The kid himself could of been more discreet.
Discretion, is the only way the religious disputes can be avoided. Kinda like, you do your thing and I will do mine, and we both agree not to judge one another over the fact.
Sadly this most often is not the case.

Jew/Christian=Pagan and taken from earlier Vedic Scroll writings and leaders put a spin on it to control their people/slaves for wealth and power.

Do research on ruler, Constantine, please.

Protestant Church, was created by the Catholic Church when King Henry the VIII was protested to not kill any more wives. What better way to keep control of the people, than create a church that the same controller is controlling.

Wow, interesting story, well i guess both of them should remember this: "There is Always a Time and Place for Everything"

Almost half of the world IMO are Christians plus they have been thought since their childhood days that witchcraft is evil and an abomination to their god.

Oh and I also forgot; based on my opinion and observation, 80-90% of Christians are very Close Minded.

Lol, expressing beliefs should be done moderately and in a right Place and Time, because overdoing it can really lead to annoying negative results, this is one of the examples.

No one is saying all Catholics are ignorant. I grew up Catholic and they are pretty rigid in their beliefs. It's just how the religion works. I'm not comfortable being a part of any religion that goes out of it's way to exclude and condemn others. Just last summer I went to a Catholic wedding. Yes, it was scary for me to do this, but I did because I love my friends enough to put aside my personal beliefs for them.
Upon second thought I think that no one should be allowed to express their religion publicly at school, unless they are quiet about it. As long as the school treats all religions equally I don't see a problem with it. The problem that comes from open expression of religion is that people think they are being attacked and start getting very defensive. It ruins friendships, relationships and so much more. It's better to just work on being a good person and your own spirituality.

Correction. No one *here* is saying all Catholics are ignorant. Funny thing is that some guys come up to me and start yelling at me for being Catholic! But I'm not condemning anyone here. Here people are mostly made up of smart, equal and civilized people. The others are role-players.
