Honestly, the only time I've heard that term was on 'Charmed'.

(i havent reserched this tho)
but one reason to do a wedding at a cemetery, could be for getting the blessing, or to honur your ancesters.
And on the night part.
Some chuse under the full moon or a stary night.
Sins it is a special kind of magickal feeling about doing it a bitt difrent to.

I supose that some chuse the night do to they might have some kind of "religius or belif" in somthing that involves the night.

Sure, might be others reasons to:)

thanks for you comments, and nevermore this was showed on charmed but there are a custom of "dark weddings" i learned this partly because of my religion (baptist) Not the baptists you guys know, totally different. Yes we do worship god and follow the bible but lets just say we tend to transcend the "normal dummy i have no knowledge of the esoteric world syndrome "

Interesting.

As I said, I've only heard the term on T.V., but if it has validity in the real world, it's always interesting to know.

Though I can say I would never do it. I prefer to leave the resting, well...resting lol.

Honestly a wedding in a cemetery is pretty darling, because personally I might have my wedding ceremony where my dad is buried because I would want him to be at my wedding.

Just thoughts, Bryce

no need to fear the dead, but the dark wedding is not exactly a good union you know. it calls upon the essence of the prince of "darkness"

Oh dear, is nothing sacred anymore? Time was when having a wedding at night in a cemetery was terribly outre and therefore only something undertaken by persons existing on the outermost fringes of society.

Now we have Baptists doing them. How banal can it get?

Next thing you know, the Goths will be dressing up for Halloween in three-piece Armani suits and gowns from Givenchy, sipping martinis and dancing to Sinatra and Nina Simone.
