It could be part of the "group consciousness" phenomenon. Are you with other people when this happens? Or alone and then upon socializing others bring it up?
When I was in like... hmmm 4th grade? we used to do spelling tests and we always had to read books. This was before my time on the internet and I didn't own a dictionary. Sometimes I'd come across a word I didn't really understand, and being too shy to ask for help I'd just sit there in ignorance and go on with my day. I would ALWAYS end up hearing the word explained on TV later that day :D I remember a specific word -- tidbit -- that was explained to me by Al on Home Improvement XD

i allways seem to take a conversation in another direction - more suited to my perferances. For example we're talking about cheese and i don't like the topic so i'm not commenting much. In a few minutes the conversation tends to end up with a topic more suited to me so i can include, but without me pushing it in that direction. We end up talking to something i have lots and lots to say about haha.
Oh and sometimes i can figure out what the people i am talking to want to talk about...maybe that's how i make so many friends lol
Could be that since you have been thinking about it, it seems to stick out more. Normally, you wouldn't think anything of it or take time to notice, but once you've got it in your mind you notice it more. Happens to me occasionally.
