Invocation

An invocation is a kind of prayer addressing deity, or a particular aspect of deity, and asking for deity?s presence or aid. It's like a formal prayer. An invocation can be directed to a Universal deity, or to a Personal deity or Patron deity. It should always come from the heart and reflect what you genuinely feel. When you invoke deity, you can visualize the deity in your mind, and ?see? that deity manifest before you, and these images should be help strongly in your minds eye. Some people visualize the deity as light, or a small ball and occasionally a column of light. There are others who see the light of deity descending into a statue or picture of that specific deity. Either way you look at it, so long as you can focus on the Deity?s presence as you invoke, it is all good. Also, an invocation is a great way to get in touch with deity as well. When you invoke a deity it allows that specific deity to communicate with you as well as monitor your progress and show you a new way to approach things, especially when it comes to certain aspects of your life.
