I am studying the uses of herbs to treat common illnesses such as headaches and cramping. I have begun using Cullpepper's Complete Herbal and was wondering if you might have any extra information on what herbs I can use for study.

I am in a massive forest, so I have access to lots of fresh plants. However, most, if not all, of them are wild and many are hard to identify. Do you have any tips for finding good uses for them.

Also, my climate is very wet and shady with rocky clay for soil, not to mention erratic winters; what kinds of herbs should I try to grow in my garden this spring?
