praying vs casting?

I haven't seen this question asked before, but many questions are asked a couple dozen times before somebody posts a long lesson/lecture about it... Then it gets asked a couple dozen more times.

There is always the search bar!

I used it. All I saw was Native American prayers(which I may check into later), but that was only the first page.

I didn't mean to say that this topic has been posted and to use the search bar to find it, I just meant that it is always a good thing to check first. Chances are no one will really notice a duplicate thread unless it is vampire stuff, or some memorable argument or whatever happened in a similar thread.

for instance, there was a thread against RPers that Adon posted that caused a LOT of turmoil of opinions. If you want to check out your subject before posting, search for similar subjects and be sure to check the responses. If it causes an arguement, its better not to post them.

Anyway, I wanted to voice my opinion more for the sake of actually voices it than advice. In my opinion, praying is a form of spellcasting. You pray to a higher power for a certain effect to take place. If it is done, then the prayer was answered. The way I see it, prayers are to create miracles, which are nothing but magic done by divine beings; thus making it a form of casting. :)

Both prayer and spells are declaring your intentions or desired outcome to the universe, it is essentially the same.

i like a blancanced mix of both.
praying is good because the Gods know best and its good to not have the responisiblity to handle something that can be stressful, saddening or maddening.
casting is also great because you're in control and that can give off a sense of self-esteem, therefore strengtheing your magick
