they're right hun, magick isnt the solution to every problem, try some stress techniques that calm you down:
breathing in for 5 seconds...1..2..3..4..5..and breathing out for 3..2..1..and repeat that for a while, it makes you mellow
you can also try practising what you are going to say in front of a mirror it always helps with confidence, like speaches, or interviews with jobs.
be yourself, if people dont like you, their loss, try to be happy and bubbly and friendly, your attitude will rub off on them.
also there is a thing called the law of attraction, what you think of gets attracted to you for example:
"i want friends" keep thinking this and this will attract positive helpful people to you, but this can backfire for example:
"i dont want to be bullied no more" although you are thinking in a good way, you are using the key word "bullied" meaning you will get bullied same as if you are thinking:
"i hope the dont get annoyed at me in work" this will attract people to get annoyed at you, instead think this:
"i hope they like me" as this will make them positive, thats why people always tell you to be optamistic, if you tell yourself you will fail, you will most of the time.
