I just think it's a very suspicious, colossal waste of money.

Really? We need to think about moving to the the moon, a much less hospitable place than where we are now, when we can't even take care of the Earth? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to live on the moon (or at least vacation there, lol), but this is such nonsense to me. Maybe I don't fully understand the importance of this mission, but I think water on the moon is one of the last things we need to worry about, the way things are going.

No we're not... 2012 merely marks the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. A much better age, I hope. In the Age of Pisces people focused too much on material things.

It does seem a bit random, but then again its nasa. I just have an interest in science and space and whats out there. I think they were looking at it, due to the fact that the cost of sending a liter of water into space is quite obscene. And also if they can extract water from the moon, they can look further into manned exploration of the solar system and things as such.

But i suppose its only really interesting if your interested in that kinda thing! LOL. And i believe if you want to discuss 2012 there is a website, linked to this one where you can do so!

3600°F (Nearly 2000°C) is not too bad. There could be some form of life there. It wouldn't be carbon-based, of course, but some interesting ceramics might exist at these temperatures that use the molten materials around as a solution in which life begins.

(sorry for the spam)

Misunderstood you how? You should have reiterated or sent me a pm. I wasn't replying to you, just throwing my own sense in... unless you meant the disappearance of the moon? The moon is still there. I see it at night. Almost gone though.

Im all for human expansion and learning more about the universe...but...the moon is a sacred icon in many various religions... I mean common, i think they are completely neglecting the fact that it is a major holy symbol and hitting it with a rocket isnt exactly "subtle"...if anything they should have been more gentle, sent some people up there and drilled it.

I mean, common... the worlds people have so much to say when something of their own is taken down for example the 10 commandments monument from the courthouse in alabama... there was a full protest and it was all over
heres a link: cnn..http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/08/27/ten.commandments/.

And this monument wasnt even a major sacred spot or such... but when they are hitting the moon with a rocket all the people just quiet down and say "sure"...

It ludacris to even allow this act to be carried out, its like takinga stick of dynamite and putting it at the base of the hill in which jasus died and say "were looking for gold, were pretty sure its there, so lets find out"...

And obviously enough there were gentler methods of finding out, and those methods should have been taken. Either way i opposed and still opppose this idea of bombing the moon
