Baptism....
By:
One of my best friends is a vampire, but he also has very strong Wiccan and Druid family lines.
He told me that since I was baptised [ [when I was one, not like it was my choice] ] that whatever natural abilities I had would be null and void and that I'd have to work harder as a witch to try and make up for what I've lost.
I kind of think it's a load of crap, personally, but I'd love to hear any other opinions or answers out there.

[ [P.S. I already know I posted this on the Teen forum, but I wanted a more broad spectrum. If the double post is a problem, feel free to remove it.] ]

I was baptized as a child, and I have not found that it has any influence on my magic whatsoever.
I don't know if that helps you or not, but it's my two cents.

Yeah... I've been baptized several times, actually, and I have had no trouble whatsoever doing anything. If there was any affect on my abilities at all, I would say things were a bit easier for me in the areas of divination and energy manipulation after being baptized.

what baptism symbolizes is more than just a Christian act of consecration it was used by many cultures to reenact the life and death cycles used in many magical societies and is thought to represent cleansing and preparing the initiate for the preparation of magical knowledge and invite them into the society
