I would advise researching and studying various types of magic. Then you can make a well thought out and informed decision about what type of magic appeals most to you.

You can always leave it to god as I call it. You make whatever number saided dice and label each side with one of branchs of magic you wana learn tosse the dice in air and what ever side lands face up you learn that

Micah, I think that's called 'chance' more then 'god'.

I relly dislike the word chance sence for me that brings up the image of a hot gothic girl for me. And besides if the god(ess) wants you to learn something he or she will interfere somehow

When I first set on the path of magick, the goddess Athena came to me and set a schedule for me to learn by (she knew I was a procrastinator ^>^).

I also recieved in that week a dream that I was meant to become a Healer with magick....so of course I never looked into healing and now focus soley on psionics and selfish not self"less" magick.

just research a little bit of everything, something will catch your eye.

I cant give you something especially useful, as that would be jumping in too deep when your not experienced enough. You need to know your basics, and know them well.
