people attach way too much meaning to the synapses that randomly fire in thier brain causing dreams.

this was a very cool dream, and you liked it, thus you remembered it.

that is all.

Leviathan is also the oldest dragon spirit in existence, can almost be considered their god if you were to study dragonic heirarchy. Leviathan is a dragon of khaos, but once again, alot of mythology, you gotta choose which you feel right believing.

Sorry, only joined recently, and just read this.
I think that Leviathan is more representative in this dream...
The sword you have represents something more like power, and the domain of leviathan are the paths to that power you hold.

The next question is, do you often have dragons in your dreams?

The dragon could represent a sort of personal power, or gain... the nature of dragons tend to be self-glorifying, hording, and wise... just generally.

If you have the same dragon appear in your dream very often, it's possible it may be a guide... and the principle domains of leviathan are the path to getting in better touch.

However... in my personal opinion, if it is a guide, and it chooses to represent itself as a dragon... be very careful when dealing with it. Dragons, as I see them, are beings that glorify themselves in many different fashions... and sometimes forget about the concerns of mortals, or get so bend on proving how powerful they are, that they overlook the small details that, to them, are meaningless.

I kinda base this off a dream I had in the past... there were several aspects to said dream, but there was a person in the dream that was working with a substance that is close to your description of the sword.

As it turns out, that substance was fate. It's both very powerful, and very fragile.
However, the dream didn't give me the power to change my future... it merely jsut warned me of events to come, and how they would turn out.
