We think of Witchcraft and Magick as a tool that is limitless. That is true in some cases, but not in all. There is a long list of things that Magick can not do for us. Magick follows the rules of Science. And if you know that, you can succeed as a Witch. Nothing can defy Science because science is the explanation of anything. Science does not explain Magick, but rather Magick and Science explain each other. There are rules to Science which apply as the same rules to magick. One of the most Famous, Newtons first Law: "You can not destroy or create energy, only change/transform." Another might be Newtons Third Law: "A force applied to another force will always be equal." This explains why Karma. You can send out love and receive the same force you sent out. You think about Science and Magick together and you know what is possible and what is not.
