I'm still a mundane... as far as I know... but I've tried my hand at multiple religious practices and threaded all the commonly mentioned ideas together. One thing that helped me out for spell casting help was using the appropriate language.

Most spells here are from Western Europe or old America so it's easy for me to help you out.

-Hebrew: Considered in most versions of the Bible as the language spoken by Adam and Eve. It is regarded to be highly related to God and the Holy Spirit.

-Latin: The word of Satin and Lucifer wasn't made widespread until the foundation of Christianity and Catholicism from the Roman Empire. Latin is regarded to have strong relations to Black Magic.

There is also a third langauge I've heard of, not sure if you have heard it or not too. The language of the dead, death language. Something like that... I've only heard glimpses of it during exorcisms or possesion rituals.

I hope this helps some people with spell casting.
