Tonight is the Super Moon! May you have an extra strong and successful magical evening.

The moon is currently in its second quarter phase. The second quarter phase of the moon is from the waxing half moon to the full moon, during which emotions and instincts intensify. This is when precognitive dreams and clairvoyance as well as intuition is usually heightened and will peak as the full moon approaches; for those who are sensitive to lunar cycles. Magical spells are believed to be most powerful on the full moon

According to Wikipedia a Supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The term "supermoon" is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology.[1] The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but the evidence of such a link is widely held to be unconvincing.

On the night of a Full Moon it is believed by some that at least three times a year crystals should be rubbed with mugwort and held up in the Moonlight to drink in its energies. One should gaze at the Moon through the crystals. This action will strengthen and purify the crystals and allow for special scrying abilities. The time of the Super Moon is the strongest for this action.

Herbs and plants of the Full Moon include all white or five petaled flowers and white rose, night-blooming jasmine, carnation, hyacinth, magnolia, heather, lilac, gardenia, lily and iris, as well as those herbs that have pleasant and agreeable aroma's. Vervain, rue, and camphor are also symbolic on Full Moons, too.

One may prepare a Circle in Ritual on the Full Moon. The circle may be laid out with rocks and plants and crystals and herbs if desired. Sometimes candles are used to mark the four quarters in representation of the elements as earth, air, fire and water. Earth being of the North, air of the east, fire of the south, and water of the western side of the circle. Rocks or stones may be placed around the candles with properties coinciding with the elements & sides.
North(Earth): Moss Agate, Emerald, Jet, Salt, Black Tourmaline.
East(Air): Imperial Topaz, Citrine, Mica, Pumice.
South(Fire): Amber, Obsidian, Rhodonite, Ruby, Lava, Garnet.
West(Water): Aquamarine, Chalcedony, Jade, Lapis, Moonstone.

Herbs and plants(even potted) suitable to the elements may be placed around the perimeter of the circle. Alternatively flowers fresh or dried my be scattered around or used.
North(Earth): corn, cypress, fern, honeysuckle, wheat, vervain.
East(Air):acacia, bergamot, clover, dandelion, lavender, lemon grass, mint, mistletoe, parsley, pine.
South(Fire):basil, carnation, cedar, chrysanthemum, dill, ginger, heliotrope, holly, juniper, marigold, peppermint.
West(Water):apple blossoms, lemon balm, camellia, catnip, daffodil, elder, gardenia, grape, heather, hibiscus, jasmine, orchid.
